Upcycled chair

Our upcycled chair came to us looking rather worn out. It had already been resigned to going to the tip and was being used as a step ladder during a house move. After the move it was ready to be sent to the tip when we decided that it was worth keeping and turning into something nice. This is how it looked when it started out with us:

As you can see, it was hardly a stunning thing to begin with. However, Anita had an image in mind a took it on. She began as all good upcycling projects should by stripping the chair back to the frame and giving it a good clean. The frame came up quite nicely with a good scrub and a dose of Brasso. The seat and back followed suit and had a good scrub. She then found some nice neutral material to use as a base covering. Next up came the flowers, which were knit from various colours and made use of the ends or rolls which were used for other projects. This made the detailing very material efficient. She then fixed the flowers on and covered the base and back to finish. This left the chair looking much nicer and up to date with a nice design which would suit many styles and decors.
